Julianne let me know that she received her Christmas ornament for the SBEBB exchange. I stitched the Quaker Reindeer, a design from The Workbasket from the 2006 JCS ornament issue. This was the first thing I had stitched from this issue! I used my 36/40 ct tea-dyed linen so the poor reindeer may be a little too fat or a little too tall, depending on which way the count went. Luckily sweet Julianne is happy with this slightly off reindeer anyways.
I love this time of year with Christmas so quickly approaching....but I also hate it because the days are so short. I mean really, its 4:30 in the afternoon and its so dark that we have to turn all our lights on! And we haven't even hit the winter solstice yet. And should I mention that I'm feeling a little Christmas-stressed? Hubby and I did a lot of our Christmas shopping on the weekend which is great, although our bank account is much much lighter and emptier as a result. And the pile of gifts waiting to be wrapped has increased significantly. Christmas cards are waiting to be written and addressed. And Christmas baking.... well I shudder to even think about it. But I did manage to finish off a couple of ornaments that are also waiting to be packaged up and mailed.
And I almost forgot....my PL fabric arrived...finally!!!!

Well that little reindeer is just SUPER lovely! Great job! :)

Beautiful! Is that silver? It looks like that from my screen and it is very attractive. The green is a nice contrast fabric.
Yeah!! The fabric is here! We can't wait for you to join us again.
I'm feeling a little stressed myself. I haven't written a single card yet and I have lots to wrap. My December birthdays start in 2 days and I'm not even ready!
Love that reindeer!
Wendy as usual you have stitched up a beautiful ornament.
I'm so glad you finally got your fabbie!
Wendy, this is a lovely reindeer!
I know what you mean about the short days... and about Christmas stress! Oh dear. :)
Hurrah, your PL fabric!! Looking forward to seeing it very soon :)
Christmas can be such a scramble, but it so makes it all worth it when you see their smiles as they are opening up gifts and munching on cookies and raving about your turkey :)

Lovely ornament! I'm glad your PL fabric arrived, I'm looking forward to seeing a start!
Wendy,
I do love the reindeer. I really like the fabrics that you used in finishing it. Green is one of my favorite colors.
I know what you mean about stressing. At least you've got your shopping done. Take a deep breath and take some time to enjoy the daylight while its around.
I love the ornament you stitched--the finishing is beautiful!! And, I'm definitely feeling the Christmas stress, too. :(
Glad your fabric has arrived!! I think your christmas reindeer looks great.
I so know what you mean about short days...it was getting dark here today before 4pm :(
Hi Wendy, Your reindeer looks perfect. I love this design and I'm glad that your fabric has arrived.
I'm like you I have to get my finger out and get moving on sending cards, cooking and making a few gifts.
We have the opposite seasons down here but this month it has been rain, rain, and more rain and the last few days up in the mountains have been so cold that we have had to have heaters going. Not what you expect in Australia in Summer.
Margaret Gibson is moving along. Finished row 3 last night and half way along with row 4. 7 rows in total. I have to admit that I'm currently using a magnifying glass to do the bit I'm currently working on. If I don't talk to you before Christmas I hope you all have a lovely time and you have the right amount of snow for Christmas Day. - Take care - Sandra.
Wendy, I'm exhausted reading your list of things left to do!!! LOL Love your reindeer, fat or long! He's adorable. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Love and hugs,
Deb
