Happy Saturday!

And its only one more week until Carrie and J-F's wedding! There are so many last minute things to do in the meantime, on top of work....its going to be crazy. Kelly arrived last Thursday and the two girls were already off bright and early this morning to get started on their day. Later we have to visit the resort where the wedding will take place and a quick visit to the nearby town for the liquor license. I can't wait for the big day to arrive!!

I also had my preop appointment this week in Toronto for my own big day. The Friday after the wedding is my surgery date, when I am finally going to get rid of these huge ovarian cysts that have been causing so many problems and a hysterectomy as well to get rid of the endometriosis. Its funny really to be so looking forwards to surgery but I can't wait to start feeling better.

I've been getting a little stitching done, not too much, but I got this sweet little design finished up: Its called Buttons & Pins by Blackbird Designs. I just need to find some wee buttons to sew along the open space of the border and finish in into a pin cushion. I used a Lakeside Linen piece of 40 ct something, it looks like a pale old yellow, not as yellowish as the scan came out, but a soft pretty colour.
Most people pile up books and reading to do for their convalescence, not me, I have stitching projects lined up! I may not have time to check in again before the wedding, so have a great week everyone!

Wow you will be busy. A good friend of mine just went through a similar surgery last week after waiting all summer to fit it in her schedule, like you she was more than ready to be done with it. Your Blackbird design came out great, congrats on the finish. Hope all goes well in the next couple of weeks and thanks for your kind comments. CJ(ok;-)

Best wishes for the wedding and a speedy recovery. (But not too speedy you don't get a good amount of stitching done!)

Hi Wendy, Enjoy the wedding. I went through the same exact process 2 times for cysts and the third time I told them to take it all. All because of endometriosis. The surgical menopause is "interesting" so feel free to drop me an e-mail if you need some support. I didn't have any and it would have been nice.

What a cute piece, it will be lovely all finished up. Good luck getting everything ready, sounds like you're going to be quite busy. Good luck too with the surgery. I had it a number of years ago and couldn't believe how much better I was afterwards.

Dear Wendy, I wish you all the very best blessings for the wedding. Hope it's a memorable and beautiful day for everyone!!
I've had the same surgeries you speak of..all I can say is that I was never so happy in my life to have them done!! You will feel soooo much better, Wendy. It will be the best thing you've ever done for yourself!! Just take it easy and slowly...rest and stitch and read and relax and all will be well. Sending much love and hugs, your stitching friend, Deb

Hi Wendy,
I have been lurking on your blog for a while and thought this would be an appropriate time to come out of the shadows!
Wish you all the best for the wedding.
Good luck with the surgery - I had surgery for similar symptoms a few years ago and it was the best thing I ever did.

Hi Wendy,

Lot's on your plate for the next
few weeks. Hope the wedding is
a huge success and the weather
co-operates. I'm looking forward
to seeing Love all framed up. And
perhaps a few piccies of the bride
and groom. May they have a long
and happy life together.

Your Prairie Schooler pile of
projects looks amazing, and are
quite inspiring. I find that it's
not the pictures of the finished
projects on the front of the
charts that gets me excited about
a stitching project. It's the
pictures that stitching bloggers
post of their own versions of
these designs that show them off
to their best advantage.

The three framed LHN projects
are spectacular, and will look
wonderful hung together on a
wall. How thrilling to see all
your hard work framed and ready
to display, and looking so
incredible.

Good luck with the surgery. I
had the same done 8 years ago and
I don't miss the hassles, the
fatigue etc at all. You'll have
some great time guilt free to
stitch to your hearts content.

Take care.
