I have my other mini blocks ready to embroider too, but I really wanted to get back to some stitching on Chatelaine's Mystery X. I realized as I was printing out March's patterns, that I hadn't finished February's. I think I spent about 10 hours stitching and was only 1/4 into the February's chart. This was certainly a labour intensive one. Luckily she has lightened up for March so as to let us all catch up! A pic of that will be coming. I've almost reached the 1/2 mark and I love it!
Jean-Francois (the chef wannabe) cooked dinner for us last night Japanese-style and it was scrumptious. Pics for that will be on Carrie's blog I'm sure! Tonight is my turn for dinner ~ we started assigning each other specific nights for cooking so that it didn't fall always on one person (mine) and so far its worked out great and we are eating like kings. But I'm stumped for tonight's meal.....any thoughts?
This is so pretty, Wendy. You've been busy! I can't wait to see the other blocks :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the word "staid" - thank you for enriching my vocabulary! :)
You seem to have such a great relationship with your kids and their sweethearts :)
How about quiche for tonight? I don't know which vegetable you have at hand to jazz it up, but so many things can work.
I agree, beautiful block and I can't wait to see the progress on all your other projects! I was thinking in a completely different direction than Isabelle for supper tonight...if it is as cold at your place as it is mine and as windy then a nice big pot of slow cooked chili with some cornbread to get everyone's fires burning for the cold that is to come in the next couple of days!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt block Wendy - you did a great job!
ReplyDeleteOur dinner tonight is going to be chicken thighs cooked in a casserole dish with fresh cherry and plum tomatoes, basil, olive oil and lots of garlic - mmm! It's a wonderful dish and is really easy to do - even I can make it and I'm definitely no cook LOL! We'll be having ours with rice and side veggies, probably broccoli and carrots. Hmm, now I'm hungry...
I love cooking together with people - I miss that from my university days. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks great Wendy, but I agree with the colorcombinations, I wouldn't have put them together either.
ReplyDeleteWhat about some nice big pan of pasta.
Oooh, I am so excited to watch this quilt come together. I have loved seeing it on other blogs, just so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI just put a pot of beans on to soak and I have a ham bone defrosting...guess that's dinner for us.
: )
Your quilt block looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWow -- thats sooo pretty! I definitely call dibs on this quilt!
ReplyDeleteThese colours are just lovely together! Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm a typical crafter with stash urges and MUST have that house kit.......only problem is......i'm not a quilter, lol.
Soooooo lovely though, I'm tempted all the same.
I love that! That is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDinner: French Dip Sandwiches! yum :D
I'm back again, lol.
ReplyDeleteI've looked and looked and looked at the Leanne quilt and then I came back for another look.......
And I can't believe what I've done but I'm so pleased! I can't wait to get my paws on my first installment.
My disbelief is due to what I mentioned before - I'm not a quilter, lol. Thankfully, I'm a quick learner, lol.
I just couldn't resist the pretty's!
Wish me luck! Maybe I should start reading up on quilting now, before it's too late............
