Since I've been home, I put together a McKenna Ryan wallhanging. Its a present for hubby's dear aunt who is turning 75 this weekend. She is an avid gardener and although I tend to forget the names of most flowers, the purple coneflower I do remember being plentiful in her garden so I thought this wallhanging was perfect for her. All that's left to do is handsew the rest of the binding on and its finished.

And I finished up Donna's round robin for the Quaker Friendship Round Robin. Just in time too I think because the next mailing date is fast approaching.

And a finish for me - A Stitcher's Prayer by Little House Needleworks. I had to admit that I was glad to get this one done, I made so many mistakes and frogged so many sections, even using the completely wrong colour floss in the house. Why do designers use symbols that are so similar? Or is it just my eyesight that needs some help? So when I realized, half way through, that there was a huge error in counting in the bottom line of design, I left it as is....kind of fits with the prayer that way I think.

Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteThat wallhanging is absolutely stunning! I'd love to learn how to quilt again someday. I tried it quite a few years ago (before stitching) but didn't have a lot of luck with it.
ReplyDeleteStitcher's Prayer looks just great to me!
Wendy,
ReplyDeleteThe gift for your DH's Aunt looks beuatiful! You did a terrific job finishing it.
Your LHN design looks great also.Dont you just hate frogging?
How was the weather for you in Charlotte? It is the time of season where it starts to warm up.We visit South Carolina alot and when we went in August it was VERY warm. But I LOVE the heat. I grew up in Northern Ohio on Lake Erie and I outgrew my love for snow and bone chilling cold.
Take Care
Natasha
I have to admit, I don't think I've ever managed to stitch a design without some form of 'personalisation' (i.e. a mistake on my part!)... just adds to the charm I keep telling myself :)
ReplyDeleteLovely wall hanging for your aunt-in-law (if I can use that term!) - I'm sure she'll love it.
I'm glad you had a nice time with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteThe piece you made for your hubby's aunt is just beautiful.
Congrats on the nice LHN finish, personally, I love to leave mistakes in a piece (unless it's going to really through the design off) ;)
Wendy,
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is lovely! What a wonderful gift to give and receive. The LHN finish is so pretty. I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Glad you had a good time on your visit. Your Cornflower quilted piece is beautiful, she's going to love getting it as a present. The quaker RR looks great too. I'll bet the green is gorgeous in person. I'm doing a piece with blues and I just can't get the colors to show well in a picture but they are awesome in real life. Your LHN piece looks great too, congrats on the finish. Sorry that some of the counting and such caused such problems. Some pieces just seem to be jinxed that way for some reason.
ReplyDeleteSue
