One down, one to go

I found some stitching time on Saturday night and finished up my first bookmark. Yesterday I started the second one.....which I just realized as I uploaded the photo, appears to be upside down. Rather an indication of how my morning is going.....

These designs really look awful until the backstitching goes in and then it seems to spring to life! Funny how that works and yet other designs don't need any backstitching at all. I'm kind of thinking I prefer designs that don't require backstitching, its has to be one of my least favourite things about stitching. That and realizing that I am missing just that one particular DMC colour that I need. How is it that I have 3 or 4 bobbins of 501, but none of 502?

Ah yes, Monday morning blues....

Thanks for stopping by!

Too bad I wasn't closer. I have 36 skeins of 502. I think I could spare you a piece. 502 is my color for PL. Nice bookmarks.

Your bookmarks look great. Backstitching is right on the top of my least favorite stitching things to do ;)

love the bookmarks! I don't like backstitching either .. but it's amazing what it can do to a design :)

I'm with you on your thoughts about backstitching. I seek out charts that have very little or none. In fact I can think of 2 UFO that will be complete if I can just get that dreaded BS done!
The bookmarks look great and will be a lovely gift especially since they're personalized.

Nice bookmarks and the backstitching will really make them pop!

I love the bookmarks - I'm pretty sure I have the same book and I thought about recharting the months into names as well, but got a little frustrated by the process. I might give it another shot - yours turned out great!

Haha, I laughed about your missing DMC ... story of life in just about stitching project these days! Frustrating isn't the word!! ;) Have to agree with you about the backstitching - it just finishes some projects off beautifully ... but always seems to take twice as long as the actual stitching (or at least it never seems to feel as through it's growing haha). Your bookmarks are awesome :)
