A little progress

Here is an update on LHN's Stitcher's Prayer. The wording is finished, now to get to the good stuff!

And after an unbelieveable amount of procrastination on my part, I finally decided on my colours for the Quaker Friendship Round Robin. I'm really not this bad normally but I sure had a mental block or a colour block when it came to deciding what to use. And what fabric to use. I made a mess of my stash, pulling out different pieces and trying different floss on them. So I finally settled on antique white...a little boring I know.
And I really wanted to use one of the DMC variegated threads since stash money is tight these days. I went with the deep purple/blue tone and picked out plain colours that went along with it when I stopped by Michael's. I'm going to ask each person in the RR to stitch their section in one colour and then I'll be able to see each person's section more clearly but hopefully it will all mesh together very nicely. I need a kick in the behind to get me moving on this since our first mail-out is April 1st!

Finally, here is a picture of Nick and JF taken on Good Friday. Can you guess where they might be?

If you said on the roof of our cottage, then you are 100% right!

They went to the cottage for the day to shovel snow off the roof, in anticipation of the Great Melt.

Thanks for stopping by!

You're moving right along on Stitcher's Prayer, looks great! And love the colors you've chosen for your RR, I really really like that DMC variegated--it looks so pretty when stitched up!

According to the pic of your cottage, the calendar must be wrong! Definately looks like winter still!

Hi Wendy,

I really like the colors you're going to be using for your RR project. I think when stitched on the antique white it's really going to be stunning. Have a great week.

The colors are perfect.
I like the friendship sampler chart you have there as well.

It looks like it was a good day for the guys to be cleaning the roof. Neat photo.
We had snow again last night. What thaw....lol.
Today it is warmer mind you. SOON I hope.

Hm. I'm kind of ashamed that I was so confused about the two inches of snow we've had....

Love the colours you chose for your RR! I'm sure they will look absolutely scrumptious stitched up as a whole. Well, they looks scrumptious already ;o)

Love the words of the LHN sampler. Words are always my favourite part to stitch.

It's like another world there, weatherwise! It's been in the high 70s and low 80s here in California.

The colors are beautiful for your RR.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Take care!

Hi Wendy,

You've made great progress on Stitcher's Prayer, and it must feel
good to have all the wording done and out of the way. Just the pretty stuff to do.

I think that the colours you've chosen for Quaker Friendship Sampler are gorgeous, and this piece is going to look fantastic when it's all stitched up. Very rich looking.

And Love Sampler is also looking amazing. Love the rich, dark red colour. Your daughter's going to be thrilled with it.

Thanks for the heads up about the new cross stitch store opening up in Whitby. I don't get over that way too often, but when I do I'm going to try and get down there to check it out.

I enjoyed your post about Whitby
and the information and pictures that you included. I love learning about the history of places, and though I've been around Whitby many times over the years I didn't know much about it.

Do you think that Winter will finally begin to loosen it's hold over us?? I hear warmer temperatures are in the near future, plus lots of rain. Ah well.

Cheers!

Love the colours you chose for your Quaker RR. I think everyone's individual work will stand out quite nicely.
Stitcher's Prayer looks great!
I guessed the roof but figured it was the roof of your garage not the cottage. Do I get any points for coming close?
