Z is for Zinnias

I finished up my Hello Neighbour RR piece, I really didn't add too much more, so I didn't re-scan it. Its all ready to be mailed out to Carissa. And I also finished up my Garden themed exchange for the SBEBB which is ready to be mailed out too!

So for my weekend stitching, I started on my very last Prairie Schooler block, Z is for Zinnias:

This is on 28 ct evenweaver, I think its a 28 ct Ivory Lugana, I really needed something nice and easy on the eyes after working last week on the 40 ct linen.

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself since Friday. I had blood work taken last week and then went in for my physical on Friday morning and it turns out my blood sugars are in the diabetic range. The doctor says this probably explains why I've been having so many funny troubles with my eyes recently. I ended up stitching my RR with my glasses off most of the time! So more blood work is in store - a 2 hour glucose tolerance test anyways. Meanwhile I'm trying to stick to hubby's diet - he is also a diabetic but with amazing willpower - and hopefully these blood sugars will come down enough that I won't need medications.

We are having weekly home assessments with Toronto Children's Aid for our fostering program. Two more interviews are scheduled for this week. How do you spell stressful? I will be so glad when its over! But things are looking good for us.

Stressful indeed, Wendy! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a diet will help you! Good luck with the interviews!

You LAST PS letter. That's a laugh. I'm still working on my second. Since 2004. You're doing well!

Way to go with the PS alphabet Wendy!
Lousy news about the borderline diabetes. I had blood work done last week myself...and a bone density scan...getting old really sucks sometimes!
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for the CAS interviews but I know all will go well...they just have to look at your children to see that you guys are excellent parents

Hi Wendy, I hope the diet helps, too. So sorry to hear that you are under stress right now with the home visits and your health. Stitching is great for relaxation, though, eh? Z for Zinnias looks so cute!

Thanks for your birtday wishes Wendy.
Will send many good thoughts your way as you go through this stressful time with your dietary changes and the home visits. Once you know Kristy has her new home with you perhaps your blood sugar will go down too.
"Zinnias" is so pretty.

The Zinnia's are lovely.

I hope the change in diet works for you, so much better than medication. However, the stress from the home assessments may be affecting you too. I hope it goes well and that things settle down soon.

I love the zinnia! Best of luck on the blood sugars. Yikes--seems so many people have that now! Do you have Diabetic Life or Diabetes Today or whatever that supermarket magazine is with the yummy looking food on the cover at your store? Great recipes!

Hope things work out okay for you Wendy. My doctor has this dreaded line "for a woman of your age" I just want to smack her when she says that. don't you just love it!

Wendy your stitching is lovely as usual.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through some health issues. It can be very frustrating all the waiting and pushing for results.

Happy Anniversary! 27 years is wonderful : ) Sorry to hear about your bloodwork & the challenges that may be in order for you. Take good care of yourself.

Love all your pictures - esp the Blackbird & Prairie schooler alpha series. Aren't they great? I only have the E for Embroidery & never got around to working on it.

There is nothing like launching into a new project to get those lazy needles moving !! LOL.

Enjoy the day
