Shopping

Carrie and I hit the mean streets of downtown Toronto for a shopping trip on Sunday. She needed a new dress for the wedding she is attending in North Carolina (no, not Kelly's :-) next month and her favourite store at the Eaton's Centre was having a store-wide sale.

Its so good to get downtown again after not having been there for a couple of months. The Eaton's Centre is always so spectacular when you first walk in. Its celebrating its 30th anniversary which is hard for me to imagine, as I remember when it was being built and when different sections of it started opening. Of course I used to spend every weekend there.

Carrie found a gorgeous dress, she's actually holding it here, its brown and white, and it fits her beautifully. She is eagerly anticipating where she is going to be spending her first pay cheque when her job starts at the Cancer Centre.

Carrie had to take this picture....her favourite actor, Wentworth Miller from Prison Break, modelling for The Gap. It took a few minutes to drag her away from this oversized image of her honey.

And here's me looking a little windblown - those downtown streets will do that to you. Of course what's a shopping trip without a Tim Horton's coffee?

No stitching to show.....all surprises going on here ;-D

Looks like you had a fantastic day! I don't know about Tim Horton's Coffee, but I know about Starbuck's Coffee and it always makes a trip to town special :)

Oh, it's seriously cool to see pictures of Toronto. A very dear friend LOVES it there and her stories have sort of brought the city to life for me, though I've never seen it for myself. Sounds like you had a great day!!:)

Sounds like you ladies had a wonderful day - love the photos!! I'm a Dunkin Donuts coffee girl - cannot tolerate the high level of caffeine in other coffees, like Starbucks. Not sure about Tim Horton's.

Glad you had a good time, and how great that she found the perfect dress. A very productive outing. I haven't had Tim Horton's, but we have a couple coffee houses here that I love to stop at, it makes for just that extra fun touch.

Oh, great picture of you Wendy =) I would love to go shopping in Toronto someday! We have no shopping to speak of here in this tiny city so I love our yearly trips to Edmonton and alway spend to much money LOL. I love your pillow finishes also! Yay for spring, we are finally above 0 here to, but who knows for how long ;)

Wendy, I just adore your recent finishes, and the pillows are absolutely WONDERFUL!!! The color fabrics really set off your cross stitch. I love your taste.

I also enjoyed seeing your fantastic shopping trip pix. What a city! I must get there someday. The Eaton's Centre truly IS as spectacular as you say, although I'm sure it's even more so in person. Thanks so much for sharing your shopping adventure. I loved it!

OMGosh!!! I've missed so much while I was AWOL!

Firstly, it's lovely to 'see' you! How pretty you are, even when windswept, lol

Those cushions are adorable and so neatly stitched! I'm new to cushions and find them facinating (I'm easily amused, lol)

Which brings me onto point the third........I've just had my first installment of Leanne's house and it's my first foray into quilting tops.......so I might have to beg for some advice as I progress though it all. It looks lush though and I'm still at the stash stroking stage, lol.

Lovely progress pics and finishes too.

Hope I'm back to stay this time, so I don't miss anything else. :)
